AUGUST 11-12,  2023

I LOVE IT.  A NATIVE AMERICAN GROUP IS SHOWING THAT "LEADERS" MAY NOT SPEAK FOR THEIR PEOPLE AT ALL.  WELCOME TO REALITY.  FROM WESTERN JOURNAL:

A Native American advocacy group urged the NFL’s Washington Commanders to change their name back to the “Washington Redskins,” threatening a Bud Light-style boycott if its request goes ignored.

Eunice Davidson, the founder and president of the Native American Guardians Association, made the demand in a sternly worded letter Monday addressed to the team’s new owners and key leadership.

“As the NFL franchise representing the nation’s capital, you have a distinct opportunity to recognize the history and value of the American Indian,” Davidson wrote in the letter to Commanders managing partner Josh Harris, team president Jason Wright, head coach Ron Rivera and 14 limited partners.

“At this moment in history,” she said, “we are formally requesting that the team revitalize its relationship with the American Indian community by (i) changing the name back to ‘The Redskins,’ which recognizes America’s original inhabitants and (ii) using the team’s historic name and legacy to encourage Americans to learn about, not cancel, the history of America’s tribes and our role in the founding of this Great Nation.”

TERRIFIC!

NAGA threatened to launch a devastating nationwide boycott — akin to the crushing conservative boycott of Bud Light — if its demand for the name change is not met.

"Should we need to encourage a national boycott similar to what happened with Anheuser Busch (Bud Light) which is now down $27 billion (note, not one brick thrown, not one highway blocked, not one bridge burned) — WE WILL DO JUST THAT,” wrote Davidson, whom the NAGA website describes as “a full-blood Dakota Sioux and an enrolled member of the Spirit Lake Tribe from North Dakota.”

Essentially, NAGA said it objected to the name change because doing so erased the distinguished, longstanding association the Native American community had with the three-time Super Bowl champs.

“As you are undoubtedly aware, the Redskins had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the American Indian community, dating back to their founding in 1932,” Davidson wrote.

She said the Native American Guardians Association never objected to the moniker “Redskins” because the term was not racist or offensive.

Indeed, the group argued, having a prominent championship NFL team use a name that invokes the proud history of Native Americans was a badge of honor.

“We are passionate supporters of the Washington Redskins and its rich history. We write to you today as a collective voice, urging you to reconsider the recent name change from the Redskins to the Commanders,” Davidson wrote.

“We believe that restoring the original name, the Redskins, is the right decision for the team, its loyal fanbase, and the legacy it represents.”

In 2020, the Washington franchise — then owned by Daniel Snyder — decided to change its name amid ongoing pressure from left-wing mobs who claimed the term was racist and offensive.

In February 2022, the team unveiled its insipid new name: the Commanders.

Like many longtime fans of the team, NAGA objected to the name change and wants to see it changed back.

In June, group member Daniel Fazzolare started an online petition to bring back the Washington Redskins.

“The name ‘Redskins’ carries deep cultural, historical, and emotional significance, honoring the bravery, resilience, and warrior spirit associated with Native American culture,” the petition says. “It was never intended as a derogatory or offensive term but as a symbol of respect and admiration."

COMMENT:  This is the kind of thing that can take off.  Note the bluntness, and even some threats.  I hope this is the first of many incidents where people say, "Those leaders don't speak for me."

Let's watch the WOKE crowd start to sweat.  I'll bring my camera.

CERTAIN THINGS BECOME OBVIOUS:  Can the Dems still pretend that President Biden is lofty and above us all?  Things are closing in, with the possibility that the president could decide not to run next year if his legal situation deteriorates further.  It is reported that Kamala Harris is taking English as a first language.  From ace lawyer Jonathan Turley in the New York Post:

This week, President Joe Biden responded to calls for greater access to the media with a blockbuster interview with . . . the Weather Channel.

The interview immediately prompted critics to speculate that the president wanted to continue to talk about the weather — the same claim made after the disclosure of his participation in various dinners with his son’s foreign associates.

As the number of these dinners, meetings and outings increase, Joe Biden appears to have covered more meteorological subjects than Al Roker.

The problem is that conditions are worsening in Washington.

This week, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer released a third report on the ongoing investigations into the Biden corruption scandal.

The latest bank records indicate the Biden family has received more than $20 million, including from corrupt Kazakh figures.

Some of this money provided Hunter Biden with extravagant toys. On April 22, 2014, Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev wired $142,300 to the Rosemont Seneca Bohai bank account.

That account then shows the exact same amount being wired to a New Jersey car dealership for a Fisker sports car for Hunter. Finding the Fisker unsuitable, Hunter traded it in for a Porsche.

Notably, these payments often coincided with dinners and meetings with Joe Biden.
Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, the widow of Moscow ex-Mayor Yury Luzhkov, wired $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton Feb. 14, 2014.

She later attended a dinner with Joe and Hunter Biden at Washington, DC, hotspot Café Milano.

For weeks, Joe Biden’s prior claims have been collapsing as his allies in the media and Congress struggle for an alternative spin on these new disclosures.

The president’s denials of any knowledge of his son’s foreign dealings has finally have been exposed as a lie.

Even the Washington Post has acknowledged Biden lied when he insisted that Hunter never made any money in China.

COMMENT:  When you lose the Washington Post, you lose the healthy-food crowd, and that's the end for a Democrat.  Common sense tells us that Joe Biden has been improperly gifted, to coin a phrase.  The issue is how much that will mean to the American people, and, importantly, the American press.

Read the rest of the piece.  Can't America do better?  Or are we defining deviancy down, Pat Moynihan's description of a nation that gets used to low standards?

AUGUST 9-10,  2023

WE NEED MORE LIKE HER:  A fed-up Seattle cop speaks the truth.  But will the liberal establishment listen?  I doubt it because liberals have their lives invested in a fraud, and it's hard to admit it.  As for Joe and Kamala, they probably still believe the party line.  From Fox:

Former Seattle police Lieutenant Jessica Taylor blasted the crime-ridden liberal city as a "disgrace" and lamented that criminals are in charge in a scathing 15-page resignation letter she handed over to her boss.

"Chief [Adrian] Diaz, let me tell you, the state of the Seattle Police Department and the city is a disgrace. The criminals are running this city," she wrote in part.

The toxic mix of the Seattle City Council's absurdity, the spinelessness of the Mayor, the leniency of the prosecutor's office, and your failed leadership has accelerated this city's downhill slide straight to rock bottom. The problems were already brewing before you came on the scene, but, since your arrival, it’s been a free fall into anarchy & chaos."

Taylor joined "Fox & Friends" on Thursday, where she told co-host Ainsley Earhardt about what compelled her to write the letter and why she resigned from the force after serving more than 20 years.

"I moved to Seattle in 1998. It was absolutely beautiful, and it was clean, and the department had a great reputation, and it was outstanding… and I was able to do my job, and I thought I did it really well," she said.

"But, over the years, it has just gone from the very top to the very bottom, and I just I can't do it anymore. I can't live the lie."

Taylor said, during her time serving with the Seattle police, she poured her "heart" and "soul" into the job, and she felt the need to say what was on her mind after seeing the city make its sharp decline.

"I wanted to go out saying the truth, so I did," she continued.

Taylor left the department on Aug. 1 and went public with the letter this Tuesday on "The Jason Rantz Show" on KTTH. In its 15 pages, she blasted the department as a "a breeding ground of lies, deceit, favoritism, and rampant corruption."

On-air Thursday, she cited "lack of support" from management despite being in management herself.

COMMENT:  Read the rest.  My question is, what happens to her now?   We know, of course, she'll be labeled a racist.  The forces of the left will trash her reputation.  Most of the press will ignore her.  Any good department should want her, but will anyone have the guts to hire her?

Here in New York there is a constant drumbeat of resignations from the NYPD, and very few people seem to care.  New York State is run by a crowd that considers Lenin a conservative.  The mayor of New York City would like to do the right thing, but hasn't got the power or the money.  The New York Times is busy dumbing itself down.

And the citizens?  Well, many are moving out.  And the ones who remain will probably go to the polls and elect the same people who are destroying the town.  Why would any tourist bother to come.

We wait for a political miracle.  They normally don't happen.

MAYBE A MODEL T WOULD BE BETTER:  There are growing doubts about electric cars.  Will the mainstream press take notice?  From Issues and Insights:

Three California residents last week filed a lawsuit against Tesla for what they claim is false advertising over the car’s range. But why stop at Tesla? And why just sue over false claims about range when every other claim about EVs is also a lie?

The lawsuit comes in the wake of a Reuters report contending that Tesla had been goosing the range displayed on its dashboard and created a “diversion team” to deal with all the customer complaints about faulty batteries.

The filing claims that “had Tesla honestly advertised its electric vehicle ranges, consumers either would not have purchased Tesla model vehicles, or else would have paid substantially less for them.”

But this isn’t new news. There have been several reports over the years about the wildly inflated EV range claims.

A little over a year ago, Forbes published an article detailing how the advertised range of EVs was often way off.

“I’ve been road testing electric cars regularly for more than two years now, and not once has a battery-only vehicle met the claimed capacity for its battery,” wrote senior contributor Neil Winton. “The average shortfall is close to 20%.”

Tesla actually did better in his tests than some of the other EVs.

A report from Car & Driver last August found that only three cars it tested did better than the official EPA range estimate. Tesla’s Model S is supposed to go 348 miles on a charge but only made it 280 miles. Ford’s electric F-150 came up 70 miles short of its reported 300-mile range.

SAE International studied the performance of 21 EV models this year and found that, on average, the cars’ range was inflated by 12.5%. “Most (EVs) tested to date fall short of both their electric consumption and range label values,” the report finds. EVs, it turns out, do worse on long-distance trips than urban short hauls because constant braking helps recharge their batteries.

The real-world range of EVs is even worse than these studies show because, unlike with gas-powered cars, weather can dramatically reduce an EV’s range.

Consumer Reports tested how well EVs performed in different weather conditions and “found that cold weather saps about 25% of range when cruising at 70 mph compared with the same conditions in mild weather. In the past, we found that short trips in the cold with frequent stops and the need to reheat the cabin saps 50% of the range.”

COMMENT:  Please read the rest.  Obviously it is an advocacy piece, but the source is solid and the arguments compelling.  We are seeing a scam before our eyes.  Will someone in the mainstream press please use the word.

"The left needs two things to survive. It needs mediocrity, and it needs dependence. It nurtures mediocrity in the public schools and the universities. It nurtures dependence through its empire of government programs. A nation that embraces mediocrity and dependence betrays itself, and can only fade away, wondering all the time what might have been."
