THE MORNING AFTER PILL  –  OVERNIGHT:   Republicans are jubilant.  Chesa Boudin, the Karl Marx of San Francisco, was ousted from the D.A.'s office.  In Los Angeles, Dem stalwart Karen Bass was blocked from the mayoralty, at least for now, by a political newcomer.  The pundit class is now projecting that Republicans will win the House in November by possibly historic proportions.  Who could ask for anything more?  From Breitbart:

CNN’s senior data reporter Harry Enten said Monday on “The Lead” that Republicans will win a massive majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November midterm elections.

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “If you’re a Republican running for re-election or trying to unseat a Democrat, things are looking pretty good, right?”

Enten said, “I would say they’re looking very good from the historical context. Basically, I took the best Republican positions on the generic congressional ballot at this point in midterm cycles since 1938 — that generic ballot basically is, ‘Would you vote for the generic Republican or generic Democrat in your district?’ And guess what, since 1938, the Republican two-point lead on the generic congressional ballot is the best position for Republicans at this point in any midterm cycle in over 80 years. It beats 2010 when Republicans were up a point. It beats 2014, 2002, 1998, where Democrats led by a point, and in all of those four prior examples that make this list of the top five, look at that, who won a majority? It was the Republicans who won a majority.”

He added, “Now, of course, the election is not being held tomorrow, and we’ll see. Sometimes history isn’t always prologue, but my estimate for the 2023 House makeup, if the election were held today, which again, it isn’t, we still have five months, five months from tomorrow, would be Republicans, 236 seats to 241 seats. Democrats, 194 to 199. That’s based off a formula of seat-to-seat race ratings from the Cook Political Report and Inside Elections.”

Tapper said, “That is a stomping, or that would be a stomping.”

Enten said, “Yes, it would.”

COMMENT:   Okay, Republicans.  Stomp away.  But be careful.  Don't be lulled to sleep by overconfidence.  The Dems will throw everything they have at you, and truth won't matter a bit.  Republicans often fight back weakly.  It is time to break out the logic of Ronald Reagan and the muscle of Donald Trump.  Put them together with the patriotism of Dwight Eisenhower.  And think ahead to the presidential election of 2024.

We can restore America.

A POLITICAL REVOLUTION?  WE CERTAINLY HOPE SO – OVERNIGHT:  Results are coming in from California in both the race for the Democratic mayoral nomination in Los Angeles and the recall vote aimed at removing San Francisco's fringe-left district attorney, Chesa Boudin.  With 57 percent of the L.A. vote in, newcomer, moderate, and former Republican Rick Caruso holds a surprising 40.8 percent to 37.7 percent lead over progressive true-believer Karen Bass, an African-American member of Congress, and the candidate whom the "experts" expected would take the race easily.  Is L.A. lurching rightward after taking a beating from high crime and homelessness?  It appears that way, but we'll await further developments.  If L.A., queen of LaLaLand, goes right, it has serious implications for the Democratic Party nationally.

In San Francisco, it looks like Comrade Boudin is sunk, or purged, or sent to Siberia, however you want to put it.  The news is good.  From Fox:

Voters in San Francisco have chosen to recall embattled District Attorney Chesa Boudin following a recall effort centered on his handling of rising crime across the city.

San Francisco voted to recall Boudin as the district attorney, according to results at the time the Associated Press called the race.

Boudin was elected in 2019 with 50.8% of the vote and was sworn in as San Francisco's 29th district attorney on Jan. 8, 2020.

He faced an onslaught of criticism over his progressive criminal justice policies as those supporting his recall pointed to an increased murder rate, violent crime, shoplifting, burglaries, and an open-air drug trade as reasons to vote for his removal from office.

Boudin's supporters praised him for keeping his promises of eliminating cash bail, not prosecuting quality-of-life crimes and putting fewer people behind bars.

His father, David Gilbert, a former member of the left-wing extremist Weather Underground group, spent 40 years in prison for second-degree murder and first-degree robbery charges before being granted parole last year.

His mother, Kathy Boudin, who was also a member of Weather Underground, spent more than 20 years in prison before being released in 2003.

Boudin was raised by left-wing activist Bill Ayers, who was a co-founder of Weather Underground.

What a pedigree!

COMMENT:  How sweet it is!  If San Francisco can kick out its Marxist lawman, can the real America be far behind?

We'll have more to say later.

"The left needs two things to survive. It needs mediocrity, and it needs dependence. It nurtures mediocrity in the public schools and the universities. It nurtures dependence through its empire of government programs. A nation that embraces mediocrity and dependence betrays itself, and can only fade away, wondering all the time what might have been."
